A wooden fire door is a door assembly possessing specific fire-resistance capabilities, constructed using fire-retardant wood or wood-based products for the door frame, door leaf framework, and door leaf facing panels; any infill material within the door leaf must be non-toxic and harmless to humans (such as fire-resistant thermal insulation); and the assembly must be equipped with fire-rated hardware.

The overlap dimension between the door leaf and the door frame shall be no less than 12 mm. The operating clearance between the door leaf and the door frame on the hinge side shall not exceed the dimensional tolerances specified in the design drawings. The operating clearance between the door leaf and the door frame on the lock side shall not exceed the dimensional tolerances specified in the design drawings. The operating clearance between the door leaf and the top frame shall not exceed 3 mm. The gap between door leaves for double-leaf or multi-leaf doors shall not exceed 3 mm. The operating clearance between the door leaf and the bottom frame or the floor shall not exceed 9 mm. Regarding the clearance between the mating surfaces of the door leaf and the door frame: the clearance at the mating surfaces on the hinge side, the lock side, and the top frame shall not exceed 3 mm. Regarding the surface level difference between the door leaf and the door frame: on the opening face of the fire door, the difference in surface level between the door frame and the door leaf shall not exceed 1 mm.
