What the buyer is trying to solve

Why the page exists.
The buyers who arrive at this page are rack-system OEMs and warehouse asset managers who are evaluating a replacement for the galvanized-steel corner post in their pallet racking. Their existing galvanized rack is showing rust at the bolted connection after {{3–7}} years; their cold-storage rack has white rust and reduced coating at every cold-cycle. They want a corner post that survives the warehouse atmosphere for 20+ years without recoating, that holds its compressive load rating under the rack PE's published design, and that bolts into the existing horizontal-beam connection without re-engineering the rack.
Atmospheres where FRP corner post is the right answer
- Cold storage / freezer
- Humid warehouse
- Coastal warehouse
- Chemical wash-down
- ESD-sensitive load (electronics)
- Food & pharma cold chain
- Salt-spray port warehouse

When not to specify FRP corner post
Cases where steel remains correct.
Three cases where we redirect
- Very heavy pallet load above {{1,500}} kg per bay. FRP has lower compressive stiffness than steel; very heavy-bay racking remains a steel design. Verify the per-bay load on first article.
- Seismic zone above zone 3. FRP rack frames require a project-specific structural analysis in high-seismic zones. The PE evaluates per project.
- Architectural metal finish required. If the owner has specified a galvanized or stainless visual in the procurement spec, FRP cannot match it visually. Specify the metal and budget for the coating cycle.

Customization & OEM

Rack-system OEMs typically need a complete kit of uprights and beam-hook connections to the project's bolt pattern. Send the rack drawing; we return the upright BOM with the published section properties and a fixed quote. First article {{6–8}} weeks; repeat {{3–4}} weeks.
Frequently asked questions

What is the typical lead time for a {{5,000}} post order?
From PO to first delivery, typically {{8–10}} weeks for standard {{80}} × {{80}} × {{8}} mm angles. Custom size adds {{2}} weeks.
Is the corner post compatible with standard beam-hook connections?
Standard upright geometry accepts conventional beam-hook connectors. If your racking uses a proprietary beam-hook profile, a project-specific connection detail may be required - send the beam-hook drawing and we will confirm on RFQ.
What is the load rating?
Compressive strength per ASTM D695; per-bay load rating depends on the rack geometry and the project PE's evaluation. We provide the section properties; the rack PE sizes the rack.
How is the post anchored to the warehouse floor?
Stainless A4 base plate with chemical anchor to the concrete slab; through-bolted to the floor beam if present. Anchor pattern per project.
How is the post inspected in service?
Visual at annual warehouse walk-around; look for surface damage, UV chalking, or impact cracks. Any visible crack or fiber exposure is grounds for replacement. Inspection interval typically annual.
Is the post recyclable?
Vinyl-ester pultrusions can be shredded and used as filler in non-structural concrete. We offer a take-back program in pilot regions.
Can the post be supplied with a non-angled alternative?
Yes. C-section and box-section pultrusions are available on request. Specify on RFQ.
What documentation comes with each shipment?
Per shipment: dimensional inspection, resin lot certificate, ASTM E84 (if specified), structural PE stamp (on request), installation drawing.

Send a rack drawing
Send the rack layout, the bay count, the per-bay load, and the atmospheric class. We return an upright BOM with section properties, a fixed quote, and the certification pack.
